Recipe Testing Potluck!

June 13, 2012 by Colleen M

On June 21 at 7pm, we’ll have our June public meeting of the Bethlehem Food Co-Op—Look for an agenda early next week.

One of the items on that agenda will be to begin tasting of the recipes that have been submitted for our cookbook! Why are we testing the recipes? Not only will this make our meeting extra tasty, but it will move us in the right direction to publish our book and start earning some money. Testing the recipes will ensure that the author didn’t accidentally write “tablespoon” instead of “teaspoon,” that the steps follow a logical order, and that the dish is tasty to the objective palate.

We are accepting volunteers to prepare a submitted recipe and bring it to the meeting for everyone to taste. Volunteers will be expected to complete a simple rubric on the clarity of the recipe,  ease of preparation, and taste. All who attend the meeting and taste the dish will be asked to rank the deliciousness of the recipe.

To volunteer to prepare a recipe and bring it to the meeting, please contact Sharon Maus and provide your name and any dietary restrictions, food allergies, or strong taste aversions (i.e. if you truly dislike any dish made with a certain ingredient). Sharon will respond with a recipe for you to bring along and a rubric to complete.

We are still collecting recipes, too! Click here to submit your favorite dish.
